Katrina Kaif is a British Indian model turned actress popular in bollywood. She has also appeared in Telugu and Malayalam films. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics for her acting skills, she has established herself as a commercially successful actress of Hindi cinema. She has been named Asia's sexiest woman by British Newspaper Eastern Eye for multiple times.

Biography

Katrina Kaif was born on 16 July 1983 in Hong-Kong. Her Father, Mohammed Kaif is of Indian Kashmiri origin and Mother Susanna Turcotte is of English origin. When she came to India, she changed her surname to that of her father's, Kaif, because it was Indian in origin. Katrina has seven sibblings. She pursued her engineering studies in London at the age of 17, but she was not interested in that field.

She always wanted to be in the modeling and the glamour industry. She has definitley worked hard to reach to the position where she is today. In her short career in the hindi film industry, she has already worked with some of the biggest banners and filmmakers in the industry. Although controversy has occasionally encircled her. The year 2012 has been lucky for her as she got the chance to work with the Three Khans in the same year.

Career:

Career Kaif began her modeling career at the age of fourteen. She did her first job for a Jewelry campaign. Shen then continued modeling in London under a contract with Models 1 Agency and did campaigns for houses such as La Senza and Arcadius, and even walked on the London Fashion Week. Her first film was Boom in year 2003. She moved to Mumbai and was offered a number of modeling assignments.

Initially all filmmakers were hesitating because she could not speak Hindi. She then came in film Sarkar in 2005 with Abhishek Bachchan, which was a moderate success. Then she came in film Meine Pyaar Kyun Kiya opposite to Salman Khan. In year 2007 Katrina came in her first major hit movie, Namastey London. Then she gave some hit films like Apne, Partner and Welcome.

In year 2008 she acted in a negative role in film Race which was a hit action thriller. Then she came in movie Shing is Kinng pairing Akshay Kumar. The film was a big success at box office. Then later that year she starred in film Yuvvraaj which was a flop. In year 2009 she starred film New York with John Abrahm which was again a hit.

Then she played a small role as a biker chick in film Blue, which went average on box office. Later that year she came in film Ajab Prem ki Ghazab Kahani and De Dana Dan which were a hit. In year 2010 she came in film Raajneeti. It went well and was a blockbuster on box office. Then Tees Maar Khan which didnt made well on box office.

Katrina's romantic relationships, has been a great subject to the media. After years of speculations Katrina admitted in a 2011 magazine interview that she was in a serious relationship with actor Salman Khan for several years, which ended in 2010.

She is very emotional, sensitive, and concerned about her privacy, almost an incurable romantic. She always prefers to wear comfortable non-revealing clothes when at home and above all dislikes make-up. She admits that she was lonely in the beginning, but now has several friends.

Currently, she is dating the handsome actor Ranbir Kapoor. They duo were spotted at many places. The Bollywood's beautiful couple had even flew abroad and spent some quality time together. Early life:

Kaif was born in Hong Kong to an Indian Kashmiri father, Mohammed Kaif, and an English mother, Suzanne Turquotte, both are British citizens. When she was very young her parents got divorced. Katrina stated once, "my dad, has had no influence on our upbringing, on our religious or social or moral bearings."

From Hong Kong, she and her family went to China, after that they moved to Japan. When she was 8 they moved to France from Japan (by boat) and also moved to Switzerland, Krakow, Berlin, Belgium, and many other East European countries where she and her family were stayed for a few months each.

After moving from many other countries of East Europe they moved to Hawaii and finally moved to her mother's home country, England. It is widely known that Katrina Kaif is from London, in fact, before moving to Mumbai she only lived there for three years.

Education and NGOs:

Kaif started pursuing her engineering studies in London at age 17, but she was not interested in that field. Instead, she wanted to be in the modeling and the glamour industry. In an interview in The Times of India, Kaif stated that she came to India to search for her career at the age of 17. Her philanthropic work includes her association with an NGO her mother works for, the Relief Projects India.
