Paoli Dam is an Indian film actress,  born on 4 October 1980 in Kolkata, West Bengal, to a Bengali family. Her parents are Amol Dam (father) and Papiya Dam (mother). She has a brother named Mainak Dam.

She attended Loreto School, Bowbazar and from there she passed Higher Secondary examination. She was a meritorious student and won scholarships in school. Then she got admitted in the Vidyasagar College, university of Calcutta and graduated with a degree in Chemistry. Subsequently she also earned a postgraduate degree in Chemistry at the Rajabazar Science College, University of Calcutta.

She started her career in 2004 with Bengali television megaserial Jibon Niye Khela. In the next couple of years, she worked in few more Bengali television serials like Tithir Atithi, Sonar Harin. The mega-serial Tithir Atithi ran for 6 years in ETV Bangla.
