Biography

Pooja Chopra was born on 3 May 1985 in Kolkata. She is the child of a single mother and was brought up by her mother and grandmother. In the year 2010, she crowned Manasvi Mamgai, her successor as the new Miss India World. She had also feen featured in Times 50 at position 28 of the most beautiful women list. She did endorsements for various brands such as Tata Docomo, Richfeel, Bajaj Allainz, Body and Soul, Evolve Med Spa, JuvedermVoluma and Roots Comb. She made her acting debut in the 2011 Tamil movie Ponnar Shankar, opposite Prashanth Thiagarajan.

Career

Pooja Chopra has started her career as a model and has raised to top, when she was crowned with the 2009 Femina Miss India East title on February 17, 2009, in Kolkata. She also won Miss Perfect 10, Miss Catwalk, Miss Beautiful Smile, Talwarkars Best Body and Nakshatra Miss Sparkling Beauty, thus gaining direct entry into the top ten finalists of the Femina Miss India 2009. On April 5, 2009 she was crowned the Pantaloons Femina Miss India-World 2009. She made her acting debut in the 2011 Tamil film, Ponnar Shankar. Before she made her debut in Bollywood as a leading lady, she had small roles in Madhur Bhandarkar's films Fashion and Heroine. She was recntly seen in the film "Commando" opposite Vidyut Jammwal in the main lead.
